According to The Hollywood Reporter Alex O'Loughlin and Columbus Short are joining the cast of Whiteout, a thriller set in Antarctica and based on the Oni graphic novel by Greg Rucka and Steve Lieber.  Dominic Sena (Gone in Sixty Seconds, Swordfish) is directing for Warner Bros.  O'Loughlin (Twilight) will portray a hard drinking pilot, while Short, who made a major impression in Stomp, will play a young pilot who becomes the chief ally of Federal Marshal Carrie Stetko (Kate Beckinsale).  Steko has just three days to solve the icy continent's first murder or faced being trapped there for six months with a killer.

Shooting on Whiteout is set to begin later this month in Montreal (see 'Whiteout Movie on Track').
