Variety is reporting that Warner Bros. has hired Mark Burton to write a screenplay based on James Turner's comic book series Rex Libris, which is published by Slave Labor Graphics.  Burton has worked on a number of major screenplays including those for Madagascar and Chicken Run.

Rex Libris is a kick-ass librarian who has to protect the world's knowledge and prevent the most dangerous secrets from falling into the wrong hands.  Slave Labor has recently announced the release of the first Rex Libris collection, Rex Libris Vol.1: I, Librarian (see 'Rex Libris Collection').   Slave Labor has also released a 6.5-inch limited edition Rex Libris resin figure (see 'Monkey Fun Toys From Slave Labor').
