Fans of Filmation's 1966 New Adventures of Superman and its 1977 New Adventures of Batman have only to wait until June 26th to enjoy these vintage cartoons on DVD.  The New Adventures of Superman features the voices of the original Superman radio show--Bud Collyer as Clark Kent/Superman and Joan Alexander as Lois Lane.  Warner Home Video's New Adventures of Superman (MSRP $26.99) 2-disk collector set includes 36 cartoons (216 minutes) as well as the extra feature, 'Superman in '66.' Since there were 68 six-minute New Adventures of Superman episodes, it appears that a New Adventures of Superman Vol.2 is a distinct possibility -- and comic fans should enjoy the second series since later episodes employed character designs based on Curt Swan artwork.

The New Adventures of Batman set may be of even more interest to collectors since it features vocal work by Adam West and Burt Ward, the stars of the 1960s Batman TV series, who voiced their roles with much more seriousness in the cartoon series than they did in the campy live action TV show.  The two-disk New Adventures of Batman Collectors Set (MSRP $26.99, 352 minute running time) includes all 16 cartoons from the series along with the feature 'Dark vs. Light: Filmation and the Batman,' plus two episode commentaries.
