According to The Hollywood Reporter Simon Kinberg (Mr. & Mrs. Smith) has been hired to rewrite the script for Hardy Boys sequel Hardy Men.  It's slated to star Tom Cruise and Ben Stiller, who is also a co-producer.  Shawn Levy is set to direct the Fox 2000 comedy.

The first script had the grown Hardy boys reunited after an estrangement in order to solve a mystery. The new script will likely have a completely different storyline.

The Hardy Boys 58-book series ran from 1927 to 1979 and was written by ghost writers all using the pen name Franklin W. Dixon.  Papercutz currently publishes Hardy Boys comics and graphic novels (see 'Papercutz to Publish Pope Bio And Hardy Boys, Nancy Drew Box Sets').
