Diamond has an exclusive deal with Eagle One Media to distribute the Voltron: Defender of the Universe -- Revelations DVD one month before its official August 7th street date.  The new Voltron DVD, adapting the comic series, will be offered through the May Previews for delivery in July.

According to Eagle One President Eric Reichert, 'We realize when it comes to video releases that the comic specialty market is at a disadvantage in obtaining and offering the product at the same time to general mass market retailers.' He continued, 'In allowing Diamond's client base the opportunity to obtain and offer our upcoming Voltron DVD release a month prior to the official street date we hope to level the playing field.'

The DVDs of the Voltron anime had exclusive release windows for chain retailers (see 'Voltron Blows Away Invader Zim').

Eagle One plans to issue several Voltron 'animated comic productions' based on comic books from Devil's Due.  One version of Revelations and other future Voltron releases will have word balloons appearing on screen as dialogue occurs; a second version will have no word balloons.  Each DVD will cover five to seven comic books, using original artwork and stories, and run about 80 minutes.
