Virgin Comics and Studio 18, an offshoot of the Indian media powerhouse Network 18, have announced plans to create a slate of teen horror properties for films, television, games and publishing. The new horror properties will target India's burgeoning teenage market and will appear first as graphic novels, which will be published worldwide by Virgin Comics. India's top screenwriters and directors will be engaged to create the new properties under the supervision of Virgin Comics' President Suresh Seetharaman and Deepti Chawla Studio 18's creative director. The plans are to create an annual slate of horror properties with the first graphic novel due for publication late this year.
