The 2007 Joe Shuster Awards, recognizing comic book creators, publishers and retailers who are also Canadian, were announced on June 9th in Toronto.  This year the awards included two new write-in categories--Outstanding Canadian Comic Book Creator English and French, and the Outstanding Web Comics category.

The awards were established in 2005 and are named for Joe Shuster, who created Superman with Jerry Siegel.  Nominees are announced in February/March and the public votes on-line or through mail-in ballots.
