This October, IDW will publish a four-issue comic book adaptation of the Beowulf movie, directed by Robert Zemeckis from a screenplay by Neil Gaiman and Roger Avary, who adapted the ancient epic poem for the big screen.  Zemeckis' film, which will utilize the motion capture techniques he perfected in The Polar Express, will debut on November 16th, while IDW plans to release a new issue of the Beowulf comic book each week during October.

Chris Ryall is writing the Beowulf comic series, which will feature art by Gabriel Rodriguez and coloring by Jay Fotos (the team behind IDW's adaptation of Clive Barker's The Great and Secret Show).  At this summer's San Diego Comic-Con, Paramount Pictures and IDW will be giving away an 8-page Beowulf comic book previewing the four 32-page issues that will be published in October.
