Pokemon USA, Inc. has announced the August 22nd release of the Mysterious Treasures Expansion for the Pokemon TCG: Diamond & Pearl.  The new expansion will add 120 cards including 25 new Pokemon for players to collect for the first time.  In the world of Mysterious Treasures new fossils turn into Pokemon and Pokemon with Berries enjoy special protections.  Spurred on by strong sales in the mass market the Pokemon TCG has been named the #1 CCG in the most recent issue of The ICv2 Guide to Games (see 'Strong Spring Strengthens Game Retailers').

The Mysterious Treasures Expansion will be available in two 60-card theme decks (Armor Fortress & Skull Charge) as well as in booster packs.  The theme decks, which will include a unique coin, card list, updated rulebook, playmate, and damage counters, will retail for $11.99, while the 10-card booster packs will retail for $3.79.
