MTV.com is reporting that Spawn star Michael Jai White has joined the cast of The Dark Knight and will portray a gangster named Gamble, one of several mob chieftains angling to take control of the underworld in Gotham in the new Batman film, which Christopher Nolan is currently shooting in Chicago.  In the new movie Batman and Commissioner Gordon have to decide whether to go after the ambitious mobsters or to pursue the anarchistic Joker (Heath Ledger), who is bringing his singular evil to bear on the city.

White joins a cast that also includes Christian Bale, Gary Oldman, Aaron Eckhardt, Maggie Gyllenhaal, Michael Caine and Eric Roberts.
