After occupying a unique spot in the U.S. comic book market as a distributor of small press and independent comics for thirteen years, the owners of the California-based Cold Cut Distribution have decided to put their business up for sale.  Like many of the pre-direct market distribution operations that were set up in an almost ad hoc fashion to supply underground comics to a wide variety of outlets during the 1960s and 1970s, Cold Cut was a 'reorder distributor' that specialized in providing retailers with continuing access to primarily independently-produced comics and graphic novels.

Cold Cut is not going out of business or changing the company's mode of doing business.  Order taking, processing and shipping will continue in the usual fashion as the owners of the operation search for a buyer.
