Image Comics has confirmed to ICv2 that founding member Rob Liefeld, who broke with Image in 1997, is returning to the fold.  Image's Joe Keatinge told ICv2 that Image is planning two projects with Liefeld, a deluxe remastered, recolored hardcover version of the Maximum Youngblood collection that will feature a new ending scripted by Joe Casey and drawn by Liefeld, and a new ongoing Youngblood series written by Casey and illustrated by Derec Donavan (with covers by Liefeld).

The Youngblood hardcover is slated for a Q4 release while the new Youngblood ongoing series will commence in 2008.  Keatinge told ICv2 that work has been underway on both projects 'to assure that both will ship on time.'
