Devil's Due announced plans for a four-issue Spooks miniseries based on a concept from from Ryan Schifrin (cult horror director for Abominable) and Daniel Alter (producer of Hitman) which will be developed by noted fantasy author R.A. Salvatore (Forgotten Realms, DemonWars) and comics veteran Larry Hama (G.I. Joe, Wolverine).
Spooks is a secret branch of government that protects folks from all the classic monsters, who, in the miniseries, decide to attack Washington, D.C. 'Larry is developing the Spooks agents, adding a decidedly realistic military element to the organization while Salvatore is focusing on the monsters. Honestly, can it get any better than that?' said DDP President Josh Blaylock. And Schifrin described the project as, 'G.I. Joe meets Monster Squad, but with massive Lord of the Rings-style battles.'
Spooks is expected to launch in early- to mid-2008.
