Diamond Comic Distributors has decided not to carry the Harbinger: The Beginning Hardcover published by Valiant Entertainment (see 'Shooter Returns to Comics') due to a trademark dispute.  A company known as Valiant Intellectual Properties LLC filed applications for the Valiant comics trademarks in March of 2005 before Valiant Entertainment was able to acquire the Valiant intellectual property at auction from Acclaim Entertainment Inc./Voyager Communications Inc., which had filed Chapter 7 bankruptcy .  Diamond has decided not to get in the middle of the legal dispute and has cancelled the orders for the Harbinger hardcover, which was solicited in the June Previews and scheduled to ship to retailers today (August 29th).

The 200-page Harbinger: The Beginning Hardcover ($24.95) includes digitally colored and re-mastered versions of the Harbinger issues #0 through #7 along with a new Harbinger story by Jim Shooter, who created the series.  Retailers can obtain the book directly from Valiant Entertainment.
