Fox has announced that the second Aliens vs. Predator film will be known as Aliens vs. Predator: Requiem and will debut in the U.S. on Christmas day.  The new film, which was directed by Colin and Greg Strouse, stars Steven Pasquale (Rescue Me) and Reiko Aylesworth (24), both of whom have made their mark on TV.  The hybrid 'Predalien,' whose existence was set up in the first Aliens vs. Predator film, will likely make its appearance along with some new Predator technology.

The concept of combining the Aliens and Predator science fiction properties comes from Dark Horse, which 'crossed over' its prime licensed science fiction horror properties in the comics well before the pairing made it to the big screen.  In June Dark Horse published the first Alien vs. Predator Omnibus collection with a second volume slated for October, which should provide retailers with a great way to take advantage of the debut of Aliens vs. Predator: Requiem.  The AvP Omnibus volumes contain approximately 450 pages of full color comics for $24.95.
