Dan Barnett of Walt's Cards in Baltimore Maryland saw Barry Branvold's comments about Diamond Seminars (see 'Barry Branvold of Barry's Collectors Corner on Diamond Seminars') and thinks the complaint simply reflect geography:

Perhaps I am missing something or perhaps things get different when the states are square, but Barry Branvold's comments leave me shaking my head.  First, 'Baltimore is a half day's travel and Ft. Wayne is a 12 hour drive.'  Isn't 12 hours half a day?  If he flies to one and drives to another, isn't comparing travel times rather unfair?  Then Mr. Branvold comments that 'Baltimore is a far drive and Ft. Wayne isn't much closer (to California).'  Yes, America is a big country, but by air, the trip is at least 90 minutes shorter on a four-hour flight and by road the trip is about 12 hours shorter.

There are advantages to being in Southern California: winning baseball teams, warmer winters, and the San Diego Comic-Con.  There are also disadvantages: wildfires, earthquakes, and travel time to the Diamond Summits.

Diamond/Alliance does a great job and Mr. Branvold's complaints just reflect the facts of American geography.
