The Hollywood writers' strike (see 'Writers Strike Hollywood') has begun having an impact on shows important to pop culture retailers.  Fox announced on Wednesday that it would not premiere 24 as planned, and will hold off showing the episodes that have been completed until the strike is settled and it can be assured that a complete season can be aired uninterrupted.

The 24 TCG from Press Pass (see 'Retailer Support for 24 TCG Launch') recently released, with plans to be in place for the heavily promoted premiere (promos started running on the Superbowl telecast) of the show's new season.

Family Guy is shutting down after this week, with creator Seth MacFarlane refusing to complete any episodes beyond the one that airs on Sunday.

Pulling 24 from the schedule allowed a move for Terminator:  The Sarah Connor Chronicles, which will now premiere in January in 24's 9 p.m. Monday time slot.

Meanwhile, TV writers/showrunners with comic connections were showing up on the picket lines, with Joss Whedon and Damon Lindelof picketing in front of Walt Disney Studios on Wednesday.
