In a letter to advertisers F&W Publications has announced that it will cease publication of the trade magazine Comics & Games Retailer with the February 2008 issue. The retailer-oriented publication will end with issue #191 (February), which will actually ship in January 2008. For more than 15 years between cluttered covers that screamed 'trade magazine' Comics & Games Retailer covered the world of pop culture retailing with columns written by leading independent retailers and industry luminaries including Phil Boyle, Mimi Cruz,
F&W has not yet decided the fate of the Comics & Games Retailer Website. When Comics & Games Retailer was created by Krause Publications, the Internet was still in its infancy (at least in terms of its commercial applications). F&W Publications of Cincinnati, acquired the Iola, Wisconsin-based Krause Publications in 2002 (see 'Krause Publications Sold for $120 Million').
