We took a look at the archives of Internal Correspondence, the print predecessor of ICv2, for the stories that were dominating the pop culture products industry fifteen years ago.  Here are the top headlines from March 1987:

New Infinities, a new game publisher from Lake Geneva, Wisconsin, was announcing its 1987 line-up with its superstar writer, Gary Gygax, recently separated from TSR.

In comics, DC #1s were hot, including Flash #1, which IC reported as having sold around 140,000 copies.  We said at the time, 'This low number points out the reason DC #1s are selling out -- the order are too low. Compare the orders on Flash #1 with the 750,000 copies ordered of Man of Steel #1, and you can see why there is unfilled demand.'

Dave (Cerebus) Sim was about to to publish Taboo, described as 'the Dangerous Visions of Comics,' to be edited by John Totleben and Steve Bissette.

The top games were Mechwarrior from FASA and AD&D from TSR.

The #1 comic was The Punisher #1.

And the #1 comic on our b/w comic list was Boris the Bear #8, followed by Cerebus #96.
