Bandai is planning aggressive use of both collectible elements and promotional programs to support its launch of its new Dragon Ball CCG (see “Bandai Announces Dragon Ball CCG”). Each ten card Dragon Ball CCG: Warriors Return Booster Pack will include one Holographic Foil card, one Gold-stamped Rare card, two Uncommon cards, and six Common cards. A “1st Edition” mark appears on the cards. And Super-Rare Gold Holographic Foil cards will be inserted in one of eight packs.
Starter Decks will come in two deck configurations, with 30-card decks based on either an exclusive Super Rare Goku card or a Super Rare Frieza card, packaged with random Super Rare Wish cards. The Super-Rare cards and four other cards are exclusive to the Starter Decks and not available in boosters.
Participating hobby retailers will receive free Dragon Ball CCG Launch Kits. Each will include eight Starter Decks (to be given free with purchase to customers that buy over $20 worth of Dragon Ball CCG product). Seven packs of 40 promo cards each will also be included to cover the seven weeks between the launch of the game on July 18th and the beginning of full Organized Play in September. The seven different Super Deformed Dragon Ball CCG Promo Cards can be used as participation prizes for casual play events.
When full Organized Play begins in September, prizes will include platinum promo cards, deck boxes, and binders.
