The Grand Rapids Press is reporting that two suspects have been arrested in the April 25th shooting of comic shop retailer David Pirkola of Apparitions Comics and Books in Kentwood, Michigan (see “Retailer Shot in Stick-Up”).  The two men, James Muriel-Neal Thompson 18 and Marvin Michael-Marquis Jones19, are being held in the Kent County jail on $500,000 bond.  A third suspect, 18-year-old Jevon Marquis Sawyer is still being sought by authorities.

The two suspects were arrested the day after the hold-up, but police did not release any information about their arrests for a week for fear that the news would cause the third suspect to flee.  The two men in custody have admitted involvement in the robbery, though they both contend that the shooting was not part of the plan.  On Monday the two suspects will face a probable-cause hearing in the Kentwood District Court.

Meanwhile retailer David Pirkola remains in critical but stable condition.  An employee at Apparitions told ICv2 that he was not commenting on the situation except to urge people who wanted to support David to shop at Apparitions or to contribute to the fund set up on ifanboy.com to help defray Pirkola’s medical expenses.  According to the latest posting on ifanboy the fund has reached $5,500.
