Jay Bardyla of Happy Harbor Comics in Edmonton, Alberta saw Steve Bennett’s recent column on less popular series (see “Confessions of a Comic Book Guy--Just Say No”) and feels a responsibility to order for his customers:

I’m conflicted over Mr. Bennett’s comments about not ordering certain titles to help “encourage” the publisher’s to scale back.  While I agree there is too much out there, I also feel I have a responsibility to my customers to give them what they like.  In the end, every copy of Avengers Classic and All-New Atom that I sell keeps my business growing, and as long as I don’t over-extend myself by ordering too many copies, there’s a win-win for us at the retail level.

However, I’m not sure if there’s another way to solve the problem, other than publishers acting more responsibly and setting a higher standard for what they will and won’t publish.
