Bluewater Productions has announced that it will team with famed genre filmmaker Roger Corman to produce comics, including a re-franchising of the Sci Fi series Black Scorpion.  Bluewater will publish comics under the Roger Corman Presents title, similar to its handling of titles tied to Vincent Price (see “Bluewater Adds Vincent Price Presents”) and Ray Harryhausen (see “Ray Harryhausen Presents”).

Black Scorpion will get special treatment.  Craig J. Nevius, who co-created the property with Corman, will oversee the collaboration, and the image of Michelle Lintel, who played the character in the TV series, will be used as the basis for the title character in the comic.

Other properties planned for comic treatment in 2009 include Death Stalker, The Barbarian Queen, Humanoids from the Deep, and several of the horror classics based on the Edgar Allen Poe stories.
