AAM/Markosia and Visionary Comics Studio have announced that artist Ron Wilson (The Thing, Marvel 2-in-1) and TNA wrestler Shawn Daivari (Sheik Abdul Basir) will be contributing to the second issue of the new wrestling comic Headlocked: The Tryout.  Ron Wilson, who is well known to comics fans for his work on various Marvel comics, is providing the cover for the second issue of the comic, which is due out in November.

TNA wrestler Shawn Davari is not providing any art, but he (or more precisely, his image) is making a guest appearance in the second issue of Headlocked as the WFW superstar grappler Ayatollah Daivari, a character that is distinct from Daivari’s ring appearances as Sheik Abdul Basir (TNA) and Khosrow Daivari (his WWE handle).  The Ayatollah character makes his first appearance in Headlocked: Tryout #2 and will become a focal point of issue #3.

Lawler Cover
The news comes right on the heels of the announcement that superstar wrestler Jerry “The King” Lawler’s involvement in the first issue of the series.  Lawler, who is probably best known for going upside the head of comedian Andy Kaufman during a legendary 1982 episode of Late Night With David Letterman, is actually providing a fully painted cover for the first issue of Headlocked, which is slated for an October release.
