Marvel Entertainment has announced the promotion of Simon Phillips, who was President, Marvel International, to President, Worldwide Consumer Products.  In his new position Phillips, who is relocating to New York from London, will lead the expansion of Marvel’s global array of consumer products, further develop ties to major international retailers, expand Marvel’s video game and wireless licensing business, and work with Marvel’s new themed amusement park partners.

Phillips is a licensing industry veteran who joined Marvel after serving as the managing director of 4Kids Entertainment International.  During his tenure at Marvel Phillips has been responsible for overseeing Marvel’s strong animation focus and he will remain as Marvel’s Head of Worldwide Animation.
