Udon Entertainment has announced the February 2009 release of the first comic in a 4-issue Street Fighter IV mini-series written by Ken Siu-Chong and illustrated by Joe Ng (Soul Calibur IV, Transformers).  The first issue will ship with two covers, one by Arnold Tsang and one by Joe Ng.

The Street Fighter IV mini-series, which is based on the eagerly awaited video game, will provide additional information about the game’s backstory and on the new characters it introduces such as the enigmatic Crimson Viper, the amnesiac brawler Abel, the spicy Mexican wrestler El Fuerte, and the chubby kung-fu fighter Rufus.

The arcade version of the Street Fighter IV game received a limited release in select arcades in the U.S. starting last August.  A home version of the game will be available next year for the PlayStation 3, Xbox 360, and Windows PC platforms.
