The Spider-Man movie racked up an amazing $72 million in its second weekend at the box office, bringing its cumulative total to a colossal $223.6 million in a mere ten days of release. Only Spider-Man's own debut, the $90.3 million opening of Harry Potter and Jurassic Park: The Lost World's $72.1 million topped the totals achieved by Sam Raimi's web-slinging epic in its second weekend of release. Attendance for Spider-Man declined a mere 37% from its record-setting $114.8 million bow compared with an average decline of more than 50% suffered by last summer's blockbuster releases. By the time Star Wars Episode II: Attack of the Clones debuts on Thursday, Spider-Man will have already grossed in the neighborhood of $240 million.
