We had so many great entries for our May Movie Moolah Display Contest (see 'MMM Display Contest Winners') that we decided to do profiles of the three displays that were closest to breaking into the top three.  We're going to present them in alphabetical order, not in the order they came in after the top three.  As was the case with the top three stores, they represent disparate sizes, locations, and market sizes, and are united only in the creativity of their merchandising.

All About Books & Comics

All About Books & Comics has been serving the Phoenix area for over 20 years.  To gear up for the big May events, the store restocked numerous Spider-Man and Star Wars products, and created a 95-foot Spider-Man display and a similar Star Wars set-up.  With live costumed characters in the store, lots of TV coverage, and the right merchandise, All About has had an exciting May already, and it's not even half over!

Brave New World

Brave New World has been serving the Santa Clarita valley in Southern California for 12 years.  This store's signage was unmistakable and un-missable, and was created for the store by a local animator turned comic artist.  BNW also set up a min-store in the lobby of a local theater to sell Spider-Man merchandise on opening weekend.  Owner Atom Freeman says, 'Sales have never been better.'

Galaxie Comics & Novels

Galaxie Comics & Novels in Coquitlam, British Columbia is a 1,000 square foot store specializing in comics, anime and manga, and movie and TV merchandise.  It created a large Star Wars display mixing products from Attack of the Clones with older ones in a 'mountain' of products.   While 'civilian' traffic hadn't started yet, the hard-core fans have reacted well.
