At Marvel's press conference today, ICv2 directed a question to Marvel COO Bill Jemas about reports of books distributed by Ingram appearing simultaneously (or even before) books from Diamond (see 'Why Marvel's Newsstand Customers Beat Directs').  This situation has been going on for around a year (see 'Are Newsstand Copies of Marvels Out Before the Directs?').  In conjunction with Marvel's overprint policies, it's led at least one long-time comic retailer to conclude that Ingram is a viable alternative to Diamond as a supplier (see 'Ingram Fast Enough on Marvels for Comic Stores?').

Jemas' response was vague, but indicated that action was being taken.  'We are going to address that issue with extreme prejudice very soon,' he said.  'Stay tuned, but not to worry, we are going to take care of that issue.'
