Watchmen held the top spot in Nielsen BookScan Top 20 Graphic Novel chart for the eighth month in a row in February, with two other Alan Moore volumes (the hardcover edition of Watchmen and V for Vendetta) also in the top 20.
Naruto was the other big story again this month, with six volumes (down one from January, see “Bookscan’s Top 20 Graphic Novels for January 2009”) in the top 20, including four of the top five.

Of special note for moving up the chart in its second month of release was Yen Press’s Maximum Ride, the beautifully packaged James Patterson adaptation. It debuted at #13 in January, but placed at #10 in February.
Robert Kirkman’s The Walking Dead Vol 9: Here We Remain from Image, the #1 graphic novel in comic stores in January (see “Top 300 Graphic Novels – January 2009”), finally hit the bookstore chart in February, at #18.
Del Rey’s Bakugan Battle Brawlers, tied to the hottest collectable game in the market, is on the list for the third month in a row.
