Matthew Vaughn, who is directing the film adaptation of Mark Millar’s Kick-Ass, is looking at Millar’s American Jesus comics as the source material for a second collaboration, according to Hollywood Reporter.  American Jesus refers to the trilogy of Millar and Peter Gross comics which began with the Chosen miniseries and continues with The Resurrection miniseries out this fall. 

American Jesus tells the story of the return of Jesus to the modern world, building to a final battle with the Antichrist. 

The book collection of the first series was released in a new edition this week by Image as American Jesus:  The Chosen.
