According to The Hollywood Reporter Damon Lindelof will “tackle a potential franchise adaptation of the epic Stephen King series The Dark Tower for Paramount after Lost ends.” Considering the popularity of Marvel’s Dark Tower comics, this could be good news for direct market retailers, though Lindelof won’t be able get started until Lost ends its sixth and final season in 2010.
Lindelof is comics fan who has praised Watchmen as “the greatest piece of popular fiction ever produced.” Lindelof has also tried his hand at writing comics. He began working on a six-issue Ultimate Wolverine vs. Hulk mini-series in 2006, but it was suspended after just two issues due to his heavy workload on Lost. However, he has turned in scripts for all six issues to Marvel and the series is back on the schedule for 2009.
