IMAX theaters will promote Free Comic Book Day, and partner with comic retailers to promote Star Trek, which opens May 8th.  To promote the May 2nd Free Comic Book Day event, IMAX theaters will include info in their e-mail newsletter blasts next week, as well as featuring FCBD on the “What’s New” ticker on the IMAX.com Website.

IMAX theaters have also received a letter alerting them to the opportunities of cross-promoting with local comic stores for Star Trek.  Such cross-promotions could include Starfleet Recruitment drives on Free Comic Book Day at comic stores, offering attendees the opportunity to win a “Final Frontier” prize pack including tickets for the IMAX showing of the movie.
