New company Outlaw Entertainment has announced three graphic novels for June, the first in the “up to fifteen titles a year” it is planning.  The company plans to produce a diverse line of graphic novels, and also be a source for intellectual property development.  The graphic novels will be 112-page, color books at $7.99. 

 

Jason M. Burns is the company’s editor in chief, and writer of the company’s first four books.

 

Outlaw Entertainment founders Tony Hobdy and Rick Villa come from media production and anime, respectively.  Hobdy spent seven years at D7 Productions, where he was a film and videogame producer.  Villa’s career has been concentrated in anime, with stints at Illumitoon, Funimation, Urban Vision, and ADV.

 

Outlaw is funded by Raven Venture Partners.

 

Slated for June are Praetorian, Imaginary Friends, and Hat Trick.  Praetorian follows four immortal Praetorian guards who unite to track down a serial killer in 2009.  Art is by Ramon Espinoza.

 

Imaginary Friends tells the story of several imaginary friends who come together to stop a rogue imaginary from becoming real.  Art is by Dustin Evans, with cover by Josh Howard.

Hat Trick follows Ray, a would-be magician, along with his famous uncle’s top hat, a six foot talking rabbit, and other magical elements as he battles evil.  Art is by Armando M. Zanker, with a cover by Scott Schomburg.

 

A fourth title, Jenna Blue, features a female assassin with blue skin.  Story is by Burns, with art by Steve Gendron and a cover by Nick Bradshaw.
