North Star Games will release its first expansion for its popular party trivia game, Wits & Wagers, this September, with advance copies for sale at Origins, Gen Con Indy, and the World Boardgaming Championships.

Wits & Wagers Expansion Pack 1 (MSRP $14.99) adds 700 new questions to the game, as well as a bonus "personality" card featuring Jeopardy! champion Ken Jennings. Four more personality cards feature notables in the gaming industry – Alan Moon (Ticket to Ride), Richard Borg (Memoir ’44), Bruno Faidutti (Citadels), and Scott Alden (co-founder of Boardgamegeek.com) – with a cartoony caricature and questions written by or asked of each person. These four personality cards will be given out as promos at the aforementioned conventions. The basic Wits & Wagers game is needed to use Expansion Pack 1.

Since its release in 2005, Wits & Wagers has won over 20 industry awards, including 2007 Party Game of the Year from Games Magazine (see “2007 ‘Games Magazine’ Awards”) and Best Trivia Game of All Time from About.com. The game has been translated into several different languages and is available for the Xbox 360 through Xbox LIVE.
