Kevin Smith is writing Dynamite Entertainment’s Green Hornet comics (see “Dynamite Nets Green Hornet Comics”).  Smith will be joined by Alex Ross and John Cassaday, who are doing the covers for the first issue; Cassaday will be the regular cover artist. 

Green Hornet is in the midst of a revival; the movie starts shooting soon (see “Rogen Sees Hornet Filming in June”).  Smith was in line to direct the film a few years back (see “The Green Hornet Gets Its Buzz Back”), one of three directors who were involved with the project before its current incarnation. 

We asked Dynamite Publisher Nick Barrucci whether he was trying to have a certain number of scripts in house before soliciting the launch of the series.  He said he wasn’t planning to bank an unusual number of scripts.  “I have full faith that Kevin will deliver,” he said.  “Kevin’s passionate about this.  This is the project he wants to do today.  He’s going to knock it out of the park.”
