Wells Expeditions’ Arcane Legions collectible miniatures game (see “New Minis Game from WizKids Alumni”) kicks off its organized play program in November with weekly in-store leagues. Set in 37 B.C., the game pits three factions – Romans, Egyptians, and Chinese – in a pitched battle for world dominance with the aid of supernatural warriors and powers.

League play for Arcane Legions will consist of monthly campaigns, each consisting of three scenarios per month (but only one in December), to be run over four weeks. Each player receives one booster pack (eight per kit) that contains four figures, which that player can combine with his previously owned figures to create his army. Booster packs also contain three formation base unit cards, one victory card, and one participation banner. Overall winners for the monthly campaigns receive victory banners, which can be inserted into faction bases as trophies.

The pre-sorted booster packs for the league cost $6 apiece, for a total cost of $144 ($6 times eight packs times three scenarios) per league kit. Retailers can order the kits from their distributors starting in November.
