Variety is reporting that Watchmen producer Lloyd Levin has optioned Terry Moore’s Echo in a six-figure deal.   Echo, which debuted in March of 2008 under Moore’s Abstract Studio imprint, is the story of a young reporter who is accidentally contaminated during the testing of a new battle suit.  Facing chaos in her personal life as her husband files for divorce, Julie Martin has to come to terms with the fact that she may have become a weapon with very advanced capabilities that the military covets.

According to Variety, the deal is just one of many that will be announced during the current San Diego Comic-Con, and the acquisition of this comic from the creator of the long-running relationship saga Strangers in Paradise demonstrates that “studios aren’t just interested in caped crusaders.”
