Five anime studios including Production I.G., Studios 4*C, Bones, Casio Entertainment, and Toei Animation are animating separate segments in an anthology feature film Halo Legends, inspired by the hugely popular Halo video game. Warner Bros. Home Video, which released the highly successful anime anthologies The Animatrix and Batman: Gotham Knight will release Halo Legends on DVD, Blu-ray, and digital in early 2010.
Frank O’Connor of Microsofts 343 Industries told the Los Angeles Times that “Microsoft’s creative staff is approving major visual and storytelling decisions.” Shinji Aramaki (Appleseed) and Mamoru Oshii (Skycrawlers) are acting as creative directors on the Japanese side.
