We wrap our coverage of IDW's Comic-Con announcement with this potpourri, led by the news that IDW will be publishing a prequel miniseries tied to the feature film Legion, co-written by the Scott Stewart, the film’s director.  The film, which will be released January 22nd, tells the story of a group of strangers trapped in a desert diner and the Archangel Michael as a legion of angels are sent by God to bring on the apocalypse.  The comic, Legion: Prophets, is a four-issue miniseries to be released weekly in November.   

 

Checkout tabloid Weekly World News was the home of Bat Boy and other improbable characters and creatures, and now IDW’s got them.  The company will publish a four-issue miniseries, World Weekly News, launching in January.  Written by Chris Ryall, with art and tabloid-style covers by Alan Robinson (variant covers by Joe Corroney), the series will feature Bat Boy, UFO Alien, Manigator, Freeze Dried Baby, and others in comic stories, with accompanying classic newspaper stories.

 


Good Charlotte guitarist Billy Martin is co-writing and providing art for the six-issue IDW miniseries Vitriol the Hunter, launching in February.  The character was co-created by Martin and Brent Allen, who also co-writes the book.
