At least $2 million worth of Carl Barks duck art went on sale last Friday as part of the Carl Barks Retrospective exhibit, which opened at Geppi’s Entertainment Museum last month.  The exhibit included many pieces from the collections of Diamond Comic Distributors owner Steve Geppi and Kerby Confer, the two largest collections of Barks’ works. Diamond International Galleries is conducting a sale of some of the pieces.

The top pieces include oils painted between 1971 and 1994, priced between $100,000 and $500,000.  A wide range of prices was represented, including some pieces at $5,000 or less.

The top piece is “Rich Finds at Inventory Time,” a 1993 oil, priced at $500,000.
