The rumored sequel to X-Men Origins: Wolverine (see “Wolverine Sequel?”) moved a step closer to reality with the signing of Christopher McQuarrie to write the script, according to Hollywood Reporter. As teased in a post-credits bit in the first film, the storyline will follow the Chris Claremont and Frank Miller miniseries in which Wolverine goes to Japan.
McQuarrie has some history in the genre. He did some uncredited work on the first X-Men film, and has also done work on Green Hornet (see “Rogen Sees Hornet Filming in June”).
