Summit Entertainment has announced that its adaptation of Warren Ellis’ espionage thriller Red, published by DC/Wildstorm, will debut in theaters on November 19th, 2010.  Oscar winner Helen Mirren has joined the cast of Red.  She will play the former associate of a retired black ops agent (Bruce Willis), who suddenly finds himself the target of a high-tech assassin.

According to The Hollywood Reporter, John C. Reilly and Mary Louise Parker are both in negotiations to join the cast of Red.  Reilly would portray a paranoid ex-CIA agent who thinks everyone is out to kill him, while Parker would be Willis’ romantic interest, a federal pension employee who becomes involved in his struggle to survive.
