G.I. Joe:  The Rise of the Cobra was the #1 DVD of last week, according to both Nielsen VideoScan rankings reported by Home Media Magazine and Rentrak rankings from Video Business.   Total sales of the release were 3.8 million, with 3.3 million DVDs and 500,000 BluRay discs sold according to VideoScan via Home Media.   That's the third-highest first week of the year.

The film has grossed $150 million theatrically in the U.S. since its release on August 7th.  Paramount ruffled feathers by “breaking the window” and releasing the DVD an unusually short period of time after the theatrical release.
