On Friday, November 20th the Cartoon Network is airing Pokemon: Arceus and the Jewel of Life, the 12th Pokemon film and the third and final movie in the Diamond & Pearl Trilogy.  The movie, which premiered in Japan in 2009 where it earned more than $45 million, has a setting that based on Ancient Greece and introduces the character Arceus, the legendary Alpha Pokemon.  According to director Kunihiko Yuyama (Kimegure Orange Road) the film has the goal of demonstrating the importance of the survival of the natural world.

 

Pokemon USA released the Pokemon: Platinum-Arceus TCG Expansion, which includes 100 new cards including multiple versions of the Alpha Pokemon Arceus, on November 4th (see “Pokemon: Platinum—Arceus”).

 

A DVD edition of Pokemon: Arceus and the Jewel of Life is due out in the spring of 2010.
