Locke & Key, the IDW horror comic by Joe Hill, had been set up at genre specialists Dimension Films (see “Dimension Options Locke & Key”). According to the Latino Review, writer/producers Alex Kurtzman and Roberto Orci (Star Trek, Transformers) have now acquired the rights to Locke & Key, which they have moved to Dreamworks. No word yet on whether they are writing the adaptation, but with these two red-hot writer/producers involved, the project certainly has better prospects than it did before.
Joe Hill is the son of Stephen King. Locke & Key, which is drawn by Gabriel Rodriguez, has proved to be a solid series for IDW, which has had more than a little success with its line of horror comics (30 Days of Night, etc.).
