A significant truck accident with serious injuries, involving a truck carrying comics for Diamond Comic Distributor’s Plattsburgh, New York location, is adding to what has already been a very tough week for the comic distribution giant.  Retailers serviced from that location are being told to expect delayed invoicing and allocations of products damaged in the accident for next week’s shipments.

Diamond’s Timonium, Maryland headquarters has been shut down for the past three days by the two storms that slammed the middle Atlantic states this week.  Although power was restored on Tuesday after being off on Monday and most retailer Web functions were back up and running (see “Diamond HQ Digging Out”), suppliers’ access to information they are normally able to pull from Diamond’s systems has been down all week and headquarters staff has been largely unavailable, unable to get to work.
