Dark Horse has finally chosen Diamond Book Distributors as a replacement for LPC, its bankrupt former distributor to the book trade.  LPC shut down permanently at the end of July, leaving Dark Horse and Image as the two major remaining graphic novel publishers without a book distributor; other publishers had previously made and announced their decisions (see 'Bookstore Distribution Scorecard').

The lengthy negotiations leading to this agreement went back and forth for weeks, with CDS at one point looking like the probable winner of the deal.  But Diamond needed a major graphic novel publisher to headline its list, and ultimately did what it took to bring home the deal.  The last major company to choose is Image; it still has announced no new book distributor.
