Warner Bros. and DC Comics are developing a touring arena production starring Batman and associated villains, according to Hollywood Reporter.  The show is being developed in conjunction with Nick Grace management and Water Lane Prdouctions, which produced the Walking with Dinosaurs and Mamma Mia! touring shows, according to the report. 

A launch date for the tour in 2011 or 2012 is under discussion.    

DC is taking a very different approach to the live show category than competitor Marvel, which is trying to jumpstart a stalled big-budget Broadway musical featuring Spider-Man (see “Spidey Musical Back on Track”).
