As we've done with other shows this summer (see 'San Diego News and Notes'), we're wrapping up our GenCon coverage with all the news that didn't fit in other articles.  First, we thought we ought to note that a number of RPG releases were well-received at the show, including Hero Games' new Champions edition, the Lord of the Rings RPG from Decipher, and the Buffy RPG from Eden.  All three are expected to do well in all channels where they're sold.  According to a subsequent announcement, the Buffy the Vampire Slayer RPG Limited Edition (of 1000) has since sold out at the manufacturer level. 

Gamefest was set up at GenCon promoting an early August show in Milwaukee in 2003.  GenCon, of course, will be relocating to Indianapolis next year, so an opening exists for another organizer to try to attract some of the 25,000+ attendees that have been coming to GenCon for years.  Gamefest will be run by Advantage Conventions, which promoted a half-dozen events across the eastern half of the country last year.

Mystic Eye Games and Thunderhead Games announced that they had merged.  Both companies are producing Dragonstar adventures compatible with Fantasy Flight's RPG (see 'Mystic Eye and Thunderhead Games To Produce Dragonstar Adventures').
